About Sheryl Daniel, LGPC

I’m a trauma-informed, relational, and culturally responsive therapist who believes in the innate capacity of people to heal, grow, and move toward more fulfilling lives. Many of the challenges we carry are shaped not only by personal experiences, but also by relationships, cultural, and the systems we live within.

I offer therapy that is collaborative, supportive, and paced with care. attuned, My goal is to create a space where you can slow down, feel safe enough to explore what’s present, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself, with compassion and curiosity.

My Approach

My approach integrates talk therapy with experiential, brain-based, and mind-body practices, including Brainspotting. I view the therapeutic relationship as a central part of healing and work to build a space that feels respectful, affirming, and grounded in trust.

Sessions may include conversation, gentle body awareness, and reflective or experiential techniques, depending on your needs and goals. When aligned, I may also integrate energy-based mindfulness practices such as Reiki within a psychotherapeutic framework.

I provide an LGBTQ+ affirming space and work with individuals impacted by intergenerational, cultural, and systemic stressors, including people with racialized identities and those from historically marginalized racial and ethnic communities.

Who I Work With

I work with adults and couples navigating:

  • Stress and burnout

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Trauma and complex trauma

  • Grief and loss

  • Relationship challenges

  • Life transitions and identity exploration

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and self-aware, yet feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected in ways that don’t shift through insight alone. Therapy can offer a space to explore patterns, build awareness, and create room for new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Professional Identity

I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) practicing under supervision in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. I provide virtual and in-person therapy services and am a certified Brainspotting practitioner with ongoing training in trauma-informed and integrative approaches.

I provide services through affiliated group practices and also develop independent programs and workshops under my professional brand.
