Couples Therapy

Couples therapy offers a supportive space to slow down, explore patterns, and strengthen emotional connection. Whether you’re navigating communication challenges, ongoing conflict, life transitions, or feeling disconnected, therapy can help create space for more intentional and meaningful relating.

I offer trauma-informed, relational, and culturally responsive couples therapy that integrates talk therapy with experiential and emotionally focused approaches, and offers an LGBTQ+ affirming space for couples of all identities, orientations, and relationship structures.

What Couples Therapy Can Support

Couples therapy can support partners with:

  • Communication and conflict patterns

  • Emotional disconnection or distance

  • Trust and repair after ruptures

  • Life transitions and stressors

  • Intimacy and closeness

  • Attachment and relational wounds

How I Work With Couples

My work with couples is collaborative, attuned, and grounded in an understanding of how relational patterns develop and repeat over time. I help partners notice their interactional cycles, better understand underlying needs, and explore emotional beneath conflict.

Sessions focus on increasing awareness, strengthening emotional safety, and supporting new ways of relating that feel more connected, responsive, and supportive.

Who This May Be a Good Fit For

Couples therapy may be a good fit if you:

  • Want to improve communication and understanding

  • Feel stuck in repeating cycles

  • Are open to exploring emotions beneath conflict

  • Value a trauma-informed and affirming therapeutic space

If you’re looking for culturally responsive couples therapy for couples of color in the DC Metropolitan area, I offer a dedicated service designed for that work.

Relationship Structures Welcome

I work with couples and relationship constellations of many forms including monogamous, consensually non-monogamous, and polyamorous relationships, as well as LGBTQ+ and gender diverse partnerships. All relationship identities and structures are approached with care, respect and curiosity.

What to Expect

Sessions are collaborative and guided by your goals. Some sessions focus on reflection and dialogue, while others may include experiential exercises to support deeper emotional awareness and connection. Pace and focus are shaped together.

Some clients also choose to integrate Individual therapy or Brainspotting Therapy alongside couples work.
